The 40-member Centralia Philharmonic Orchestra is one of the oldest non-professional community orchestras in southern Illinois. A typical season includes: A fall concert in October; A Christmas Holiday Concert in December with the Choral Society , High School Concert Choirs, and Bronze Expressions; Alternate Cabaret Pops concert in February and Sacred Music Concert; Concluding with the Spring concert in the Spring feature the Suzuki Players.

The Suzuki String Program under Philip Tinge of Belleville offers private lessons and group instruction weekly at the Community Arts Center. Musicians are welcome from all of southern Illinois. Rehearsals are held on Monday evenings at the Community Arts Center at 6:30pm.
